Watering in Morning or Evening? Need Help!!!

So I know this been talked about a lot but I’m kinda confused. Everyone says morning watering is best, but literally ALL my neighbors water at night. Their lawns look green, mine lookin a little sad . I got an irrigation system and been watering in the AM, but now I’m thinking maybe I should switch? anyone here water in the evening and NOT get fungus problems? or should I just stick to morning and figure out what else is wrong? ?

same frank!! I been doin morning too but my neighbor's lawn lookin like a golf course while mine just meh. Lowkey think it’s more about how much u water rather than when. U check if ur soil actually soakin it up or just evaporating fast?

been wondering the same thing! Been sticking to morning watering becoz that’s what everyone says,, but I swear my neighbor’s lawn is thriving with night watering. Maybe it’s more about how deep the water gets? You all using any soil moisture meters or just guessing?

Id honestly stick with morning watering. Its still the safest and most consistent way to avoid fungus, even if the neighbors seem fine.

Stick with morning.

Night watering can work, but it keeps the grass wet longer - that's what raises fungus risk. Some people get away with it, some don't.

If yours looks sad, it's probably amount or frequency, not timing. Try adjusting how long you're running it before switching to evenings.

morning watering is still the best practice. it gives the grass time to dry during the day, which helps prevent fungus and disease. watering at night can work for some people, but it keeps the lawn wet for hours, and thats usually when fungus starts showing up.

Im still kinda new to lawn care too, but from what Ive learned, watering in the morning is usually better. It gives the grass time to absorb the water before it gets too hot, and the leaves can dry out during the day.

I think watering in the evening can sometimes lead to fungus or disease since the grass stays wet overnight. Not 100% sure, but thats what I keep seeing people recommend.

Hopefully someone more experienced can confirm, but morning seems like the safer choice

Yeah you've pretty much got it right.

Morning watering is ideal because the grass can absorb it before the heat kicks in, and the blades dry off during the day. That helps prevent fungus.

Evening watering isn't always bad, but yeah if the grass stays wet all night, it can increase the chance of disease.

If you stick to early morning, you're playing it safe
